Installation of solar power generation systems
Taking advantage of the expansive and flat roof structures characteristic of logistics facilities compared with other types of real estate, solar power generation systems have been installed on the roofs of many LogiSquare facilities by the EnBio Group, led by Group company EnBio Holdings, Inc.
We will continue to contribute to the creation of green power.
Introduction of LED lighting and motion sensors
In addition to installing LED lighting fixtures throughout the facility, we are also working to reduce power consumption and light bulb replacement costs by installing motion sensors in common areas and other areas.
Promoting Greenery
We design green spaces within facility grounds and promote development with the environment in mind.
In developments following LogiSquare Fujimino, we plan to actively adopt LogiGarden, an outdoor space that contributes to improving employees’ working environment and to community development through the incorporation of landscape design.
Exteriors with High Thermal Insulation Performance
For exterior walls, we use metal insulating panels, which are maintenance-free for 20 years, and by cutting facility lifecycle costs, we help to reduce CO2 emissions.
Adoption of water-saving sanitary fixtures
To conserve precious water resources, we use a water-saving toilet and sink system inside our facilities.
Use of well water
CO2 measure: Conscious of the environment and saving energy, we use well water for uchimizu—an old custom of sprinkling water to settle dust and ease the heat of summer—on the rooftops of logistics facilities as a way to lower interior temperatures.
Emergency measure, such as in times of disaster: If water supply is cut off, well water can be used for daily use. We consider citizens living nearby, as well, and have the ability to provide drinking water to about 1,000 people.
Procurement of environmentally friendly products
In our product procurement, we prioritize environmentally friendly products, such as domestic natural wood sourced locally to the facility and recycled materials.
Introduction of Building-Wide Air Conditioning
To improve the working environment for employees, warehouse-wide air conditioning has been installed. By adopting GHP (gas heat pump air-conditioning systems), which can significantly reduce electrical power consumption, we contribute to substantial CO₂ reductions compared with EHP (electric heat pump air-conditioning systems).
Installation of storage batteries
By installing a battery system that stores part of the electricity generated by the solar power generation system within the facility and can be used as emergency power in the event of a power outage, we are helping tenants formulate their business continuity plans (BCPs).
Obtaining environmental certifications
We actively pursue external certifications such as CASBEE*1 and BELS*2, and endeavor to contribute to the realization of a sustainable society.
In addition, we aim to obtain ZEB certification*3 for logistics facilities to be developed in the future.
- Comprehensive Assessment System for Built Environmental Efficiency (CASBEE) is a method that assesses and rates the environmental performance of buildings developed under guidance from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism.
- The Building Energy-efficiency Labeling System (BELS) is a global-standard system in Japan where third-party organizations objectively evaluate the energy consumption of buildings and express energy-saving performance on a five-tier evaluation scale.
- ZEB (Zero energy building) is a building with net zero energy consumption, meaning it only uses as much energy as it produces while providing a comfortable interior environment. It has both energy-saving and energy-generating features to realize net status.
